Journal Overview
Areté Journal (ISSN 1657-2513; e-ISSN 2463-2252) is a biannual, open-access scientific journal with continuous submission. Its mission is to disseminate research findings, academic reflections, and scientific reviews related to human communication and its disorders, contributing to disciplinary and interdisciplinary development in the fields of language, speech, voice, hearing, orofacial myofunctional disorders, swallowing, and related areas.
The journal is addressed to speech-language pathologists, rehabilitation professionals, specialists, educators, psychologists, researchers, pedagogues, undergraduate and graduate students, and other professionals related to human communication and its disorders.
Areté Journal publishes articles in Spanish and English and receives manuscripts continuously through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process conducted by academic reviewers specialized in the corresponding field.
Authors must follow the citation and referencing guidelines established in the APA Style, seventh edition. The final editorial decision regarding submitted manuscripts will be communicated within a maximum period of 90-120 days from the beginning of the external peer review process.
The journal publishes two regular issues per year and may additionally publish thematic issues or special supplements according to decisions made by the Editorial Committee.
Areté Journal provides immediate and free open access to all its contents. The journal does not charge submission, processing, or publication fees. All contents are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
